Consent I require consent from the client. If a client lacks capacity or ability I will request consent from an advocate, appropriate professional or family members of the client, but will involve the client as much as possible in this process and with each consecutive treatment. Treatments are only ever conducted if it is safe to do so and if the client is happy to receive treatment.
Bookings are made in advance. Before your initial appointment, I will send you a welcome email (or a welcome letter by post if required). This will include a new client form and a cross infection information form. The new client form needs to be completed and returned as soon as possible. This ensures that I can prepeare thoroughly for your appointment and establish whether treatment is safe for you. I may contact you to ask further questions prior to your appointment and if appropriate work with you and other healthcare professionals in your best interests.
Consultation is a pre-requisite of initial therapy and is included in the treatment cost. Access to medical records for an initial consultation may be requested if appropriate. Written consent may also be sought from the same before any therapy is conducted if required.
Cross Infection Prevention I take cross infection prevention very seriously. There are a number of reasons for this. Firstly, I work palliatively with some clients who are very frail and vulnerable or who are immuno-compromised and even a mild infection may be a danger to them. I do not wish to infect any other clients either. Furthermore, if I become infected, I cannot work and am unable to earn my living. I know it's disappointing to miss out on your treatment, but if you have any infection or contagious condition, please let me know giving me as much notice as possible. If you turn up at the clinic even with a common cold, I will decline treating you and you will still be charged for your appointment. If you are unsure, do free feel to call or drop me a message to check. I'll be happy to discuss this with you. Thank you.
Code of Practice The Little Massage Clinic follows an approved code of practice provided by the board of FHT and CNHC . Further details are available upon request.
Insurance a valid insurance certificate is held at all times and is available on request.
Safety an advanced DBS certificate is held at all times and is available on request.
Payments / Cancellation fees I ask that your first treatment with me is paid for within 48hours of your booking. If this is not received, I reserve the right to cancel your appointment. All future payments for treatments should be made prior to or at the time of treatment at the latest. A minimum of 24 hours (more is appreciated) is required for cancellation of treatment otherwise the full fee will be payable. Although I provide a text reminder service, attending your appointment is your responsibility and this cancellation fee still stands even if you do not receive a reminder from me for any reason. All outstanding fees need to be settled prior to booking further appointments. If you do not show up for your appointment or decline treatment without cancelling at least 24 hours in advance, the full fee is payable.
If your therapy session is paid by an organisation they will be required to make payment within the allotted time on the invoice to avoid late payment fees. The late payment fee is 50% of the therapy fee each time a chase of payment is made. This is to cover the cost of the time it takes to chase late payments.
If I am unable to keep a usual appointment, where possible, alternative appointment time(s) will be offered. I will always endeavour to give you as much notice as possible.
Late Appointments
Sometimes we all run a little late. If you turn up late for your appointment, this may mean a shorter treatment/consultation so as not to affect the next client's appointment. While I will do my best to be on time, I will add extra time to your appointment if that suits.
Inappropriate Behaviour
I will treat you with dignity and respect, I expect the same in return. There is absolutely no sexual component to massage whatsoever. Any insinuation, joke, gesture, conversation or request otherwise, will result in the immediate termination of your appointment. All future services will also be cancelled/refused. Full payment will still be charged regardless of the length of the appointment. Depending on the nature of behaviour exhibited, a report may be filed with the police and local authorities if necessary.
Blends and Products i.e. essential oil and cream preparations are supplied for the sole use of the recipient and are only to be used as directed under the therapy care plan or therapist instructions. These are provided as agreed and the client will be charged accordingly in agreement with the client or those responsible for the client’s care.
Client Notes client notes are made in the initial consultation and after every treatment and are kept in accordance with the GDPR.
The Little Massage Clinic takes health very seriously. Consultations minimise the risk of any adverse reactions as does the adherence to using any products in line with the therapist’s guidance. The client or their advocate then accepts any risks associated with the use of these products.
